Maybe its the fact I have finally shaken off the flu (you would think being dead I couldn't catch it. Damn it's infectious). Maybe its a codral overdose, or maybe I have watched too much Mighty Boosh on youtube. In any case things have gone a bit wacko lately.
There have been lurid suggestions of a threesome in ministerial offices , McGinty attempts to swipe pedophile pads, Elmer Fudd gets the arse, again, and everyone has gone troppo on petrol. Sounds like a really serious night out.
The most far out of all, Troy 'The Sniff' Buswell and the WA Liberal Party (sounds like Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass) has come up with some policy. Now that's a bad acid trip.
So it seems I really, really need to catch up.
Oh and clean the dried phlegm off my monitor.

Some Weird Trip
Why Didn't I Think of That vol. 1
Two bits in the blogosphere worthy of mention
1. The exploration of the Bil Henson kerfuffle by Gummo Trotsky. Here, here and here. The last link is particularly pornographic. Corregio was a very dirty old man. Anyway, what was Kevin udd doing condeming the Henson Exhibition, now everyone wants to see it. Maybe it was his plan all along. You filthy pervert Kevin.
2. The Worst of Perth presents the ultimate ring tone (mp3 file):

Perth = Hellmouth
The Hellmouth has opened and it's in Perth.
Tonight in St Georges Cathedral, a Female Anglican Bishop was consecrated. YES A BISHOP WITH A VAGINA!
The evil progressive protestant lefty arty farty latte drinkers have taken over. It's a slippery slope which leads to gay marriage, legalised marijuana and people leaving private health insurance. The demons of the left must be slayed.
At least the Catholics have stuck to a male only priesthood. Yes, the odd kiddie fiddler and slave driver, but it's not as bad as letting women run things.

Night of the long knives

The WA ALP preselection ballots last night produced no surprises at all.
Komrade Karps Kommisars won the night easily, mostly unopposed. The Centre and Centre Right were crushed by the combined Left-Right onslaught. Reece Whitby, Rita Saffioti and Karen Brown breezed in.
Two notable candidates were selected last night in winnable spots on upper house tickets which demonstrate the changing of the guard in the WA ALP.
Firstly as one Union Boss empire crumbles, another rises. While Kevin Reynolds centre empire is now kaput, Joe Bullocks Right empire is gathering pace. In an ironic swap, Shelley Archer's spot in the Mining and Pastoral Region, has been given to Helen Bullock, wife of Joe. The more things change, the more things stay the same.
The other notable candidate is the lefts' Fiona Henderson, daughter of former ALP minister Yvonne Henderson, now Equal Opportunity Commissioner (well Yvonne did introduce the WA Equal Opportunity Act in Parliament during the eighties).
She has been campaign director for a few WA State Pollies as well as the successful Sharryn Jackson campaign in Hasluck in the last Federal Election. Fiona is now number three on the ALP ticket for South Metro (McGintys region), replacing the centres Shelia Mills. While it is a winnable spot, it is no fait accompli.
Fiona is a champion of the left, organising them in the last national conference to unsuccessfully fight against the Ruddite policy wave. Her presence in the caucus would be an imposing one. She will be no Carpenter patsy, that's for sure.

Obama - Mania

Obamas' latest rally in Oregon attracted 75,000 people. That's a massive rally. I challenge any Aussie polly to attract such numbers on the campaign trail, or even a 'listening tour'.

In a state of meh
I haven't posted in a couple of days because I couldn't be bothered.
It seems the whole state shares my sense of 'meh-ness'.
According to the latest Westpoll that is indeed the case with a large ' a pox on bot your houses' vote. Then again the poll it self is 'meh' worthy. A paltry poll of 412 respondents. Basically polling someones mum and her embroidery circle.
Meh.
The only notable point is that The Sniff is reaching the popularity depths of Brendan Nelson.
The papers (Sundry Times and The Worst) have trumpeted the news of Kevin Reynolds opponent's in the coming CFMEU elections, Darren Kavanagh. To the point that they give him a chance.
Meh.
Just token opposition, like always. Darren will be soundly beaten. Assuming democracy in the CFMEU is silly. Still, it's nice to dream.
Finally the sock news that Battling Bob Kucera will run as an Independent has surfaced in the MSM. Apparently he is still to decide if he will run in Nollamara (ultra safe labor) or Mt Lawley (marginal).
Meh.
Old news. Anyway, he should pick Mt Lawley, as I have been saying for the past two months. With the large meh factor at the moment he has a chance.
Today is preselection vote day for WA Labor.
Meh.
It's all done and dusted. May have the odd surprise as the upper house tickets are still in flux.
Still...

Elmer Fudd and truncheon pulling
Paul 'Elmer Fudd' Omodei is still fighting. He now has no shadow cabinet position and no seat yet he still wants to be around.
Now he is launching an audacious bid to stay in Parliament. He may challenge The Sniff for the leadership.
If somehow he pulls it off, the Libs will have to find Elmer a safe seat. Given that the number of seats in Paul's South West Region have been drastically reduced, it will be hard finding one.
One possibility, assuming a successful coup, would be the ultimate revenge. The possibility of taking The Sniffs seat of Vasse. The ultimate revenge.
This scenario is possible as the Sniff is yet again in trouble. Now allegations he interfered with Murray Cowper, Member for Murray (yes Murray is member for Murray), at the same event as the infamous bra fiddling incident. Apparently The Sniff grabbed Murray's meat and two veg during the typical Sniff jocular moment. Murray said, after being a policeman for 28 years, it didn't worry him. Apparently cops fiddle with each others truncheon all the time. Seriously, play safe boys, get a fleshlight.
Even more illuminating is Jim McGintys claim that pedophiles vote for the Liberals. It was a joke of course. Then again with the WA Libs at the moment...
So will Elmer triumph to lead the Libs to defeat ? It would certainly be a wicked twist.
